PRP is the patient’s blood, spun at the point of care. Our kits are specified around a one-minute spin because room time is the operations problem — older centrifuges eat a slot. It is autologous, so 361 donor rules do not apply. Payers still want a real indication. Do not bill it as a skin substitute.
Older kits occupy a room for 15–20 minutes of centrifugation. A 1-minute spin changes slot length and staffing, which is the actual reason clinics switch systems — not a brand color.
Platelets carry PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF and other signaling proteins. Concentration claims should match the device IFU. “5x” is not a license to skip diagnosis codes.
Do not bill PRP as a skin substitute. Wound-gel pathways and joint injections have different tickets. Mixing them is how recoupments start.
